Venue Information

The Burl Lexington is a live music venue located in Lexington’s Distillery District. The venue averages around 300 nights of music a year and with most shows taking place Wednesday to Sunday night. Visitors can expect a wide range of music at The Burl Lexington– from five-piece rock bands to solo acoustic artists. The venue has played host to well-known local and national acts including Ian Noe, Tyler Childers, The Wooks, Julien Baker, Lost Dog Street Band, Colter Wall, Magnolia Boulevard, Soccer Mommy, Emarosa, and White Reaper.

Venue History

The Burl Lexington building was originally erected in 1926 with the original wood frame and open layout still intact today! It originally served as a loading dock and hub for Texaco Oil but now is one of the go-to venues in Lexington for live music!

Seating Chart

Most shows are standing room only unless noted otherwise. There are a limited number of bar stools and seats available that are first-come, first-serve.

The Burl Arcade

The Burl Arcade is located within walking distance directly across the parking lot from The Burl venue. The building was originally a Texaco garage but now features 30+ arcade cabinets, Lexington’s largest pinball collection, and a fully stocked bar! Visitors can grab a craft beer or cocktail while enjoying pinball, Skee-ball, console game, or one of the many vintage arcade games such as Galaga or Virtua Fighter. And drinks can be taken to and from either building.

The Burl Food Presented by Kismet

The Burl Arcade building also houses The Burl Food by Kismet. Food can be ordered from the walk-up window and taken into the arcade where seating and drinks are available.

Kismet was started by Tonya Mays-Cronin and Philip Cronin in 2018 and has quickly become a go-to destination for Lexington foodies. On the menu, you’ll find local favorites like the “Basic B” cheeseburger and staples like Home Fries and Dan Dan Noodles, but also a rotating list of various dishes whipped up by the owners.

Hotels Near The Burl Lexington

There are many hotels near the venue; however, you will not find any within walking distance. Hilton, The Hyatt Regency, 21c Museum Hotel, and Holiday Inn are all excellent hotels located downtown that only require a brief drive or Lyft to The Burl.

Parking

Free parking is available at the venue.  The parking lot is shared with The Local Wag and Burn Boot Camp — if the parking lot is full, street parking is available on Thompson Rd.  There are also two large lots across the street specifically for visitors of Lexington’s Distillery District.
