KISS has announced that David Lee Roth will be joining them as a special guest on the last leg of the END OF THE ROAD TOUR. Roth will be opening up for KISS at 43 shows between February and October 2020, including the Rupp Arena show in Lexington, Ky on Feb. 13, 2020! Classic rock fans rejoice — you get to experience the majesty of KISS along with Roth’s band performing many of the Van Halen classics you know and love.
KISS and Roth have a unique history that goes back decades: Gene Simmons saw Van Halen play at a tiny club in LA in ’76. He then offered to sign them to a label and even produced some of their early recordings.

David Lee Roth to Perform Van Halen Classics at Rupp Arena
Roth is set to begin a residency at the House of Blues Las Vegas in January 2020. In September, he previewed the show and formed many Van Halen classics including “Ain’t Talking’ ‘Bout Love,” “Atomic Punk,” “Dance The Night Away,” “Running With the Devil” and “Panama.” Via Rolling Stone, Roth indicated his excitement of performing Van Halen’s classic tunes in a whole new capacity,
“I wrote these songs. I structured these songs. We bring the respect and dignity to what we are doing the same way that the Lincoln Center brings to the Beethoven Festival with the latest Philharmonic. It’s a new orchestra, and a whole new sound.”
What about Van Halen?
Roth rejoined Van Halen in 2007 and subsequently put his solo career on hold. However, he’s recently made multiple comments suggesting that he’s “finished” with Van Halen and that his solo career is his next step. The members of Van Halen haven’t toured together since 2015. A summer stadium tour had been tossed around for the past couple of years, but Roth indicated that it had been “canceled a number of times.”
“Van Halen isn’t gonna be coming back in the fashion that you know,” he said. “And that being said, Eddie’s got his own story to tell. Not mine to tell it.”
